A family tradition - Thanksgiving in Grundy Lake Provincial Park

I think family traditions are such a crucial thing to hold onto. Sometimes they prove to be difficult to organize, more work than you think it's worth and perhaps an unappreciated event, but holdfast, they matter.

My family and I have camped at Grundy Lake Provincial Park every Thanksgiving for almost as long as I can remember, and have shared this holiday with great friends and family. We've seen generations flow to the next and loved ones pass where there memory carries through the years to come.

We've persevered through the snow and embraced summer like temperatures, fished the lake while the snow flew as well as batted bugs that also loved the warm weather!

We've shared with as many as 50 people the feast of turkey, many versions of potatoes and vegetables, wine and pies spread out across picnic tables linked together dressed with fresh fallen leaves.

I have such fond memories of this park and hold them dear to my heart. I truly think that it has helped mould my great love of the outdoors and even though now it takes nearly a week to prepare the trip for my own family of 7, I can't imagine a Thanksgiving without this wonderful tradition. We are truly blessed.

A Blue Mountain E Session

I was getting a little worried this winter when Geoff and Jacquie wanted to have a wintery engagement session. Although I loved a more mild winter this year, it didn't allow for the type of backdrop that we were hoping for … until this day! It was freezing, but we weren't going to let this beautiful saturday melt away! We had a great time travelling around the Blue Mountain area to find some great locations and when all was said and done, I pulled into the nearest Tims for hot chocolate on the way home!!
